monsters

in 5e the creature ratings, called cr’s are way jacked up from older editions, in ad&d it was all just hit dice (which is where 1/2, and 1/4 came from) and a group of 1 hit dice monsters was generally fought by 1st level parties and so on, in 3.5 they decided some special abilities made monsters more powerful than their hit dice so they used cr to denote that, in 5e they decided that all creatures would be rated for their ability to take on 5 pc’s all at once by themselves, so every monster does outrageous damage and has incredible hit points, so naturally I am jacking with that, monsters will get 1 hit dice per level and a lot of their base unarmed damage will be reduced, I will publish my changes under homebrew monsters on d&d beyond with Kleg62’s and the monster's name
